Annie’s Homegrown Organic Rising Crust Pizza Review & Giveaway

I have been a fan of Annie's Homegrown Cheddar Bunnies for ages.  When my eldest son, now age seven, was a baby I discovered these natural and organic crackers.  Since then I have tried a variety of other Annie's Homegrown products and have been quite pleased with their quality and taste.  I also frequently purchase the Macaroni & Cheese varieties at my local Target for my kiddos. I recently had the opportunity to try Organic Rising Crust Pizza from Annie's Homegrown.  Like many families we purchase frozen pizza on a semi-regular basis.  It is always nice to have a couple tucked away in … [Read more...]

Simply Potatoes Review & Giveaway (#simplyfied)

We received two Simply Potatoes coupons in order to try two of their products for review.  I have purchased the hash brown potatoes several years ago and while I enjoyed them, I wanted to try something new and different this time around.  Before heading to the grocery store, I checked out to familiarize myself with some of the product choices and look for recipe ideas.  I was VERY excited to see an appealing recipe for Shephard's Pie.  I have recently started making this dish at home and thought the Simply Potatoes version would definitely simplify the recipe and … [Read more...]

Quinoa Tabbouleh #Recipe w/ Alter Eco- Fair Trade Quinoa

A while ago my family discovered the simple, easy, and delicious ingredient quinoa.  I am happy to report that this item is now a regular staple in my pantry.  I love trying new recipes and I find myself turning to for inspiration and simple instructions.  Not familiar with quinoa? Quinoa, an annual herb that grows from 3 to 6 feet high in the Bolivian Altiplano, contains more proteins than any other cereal and is particularly easy to digest as it is lighter than most grains. Referred to by the locals as a "protein powerhouse", it kept the Incan armies strong and robust. It … [Read more...]

Looney Tunes Phonics Online Program Review

When I was a child the internet didn't exist.   Video games?  They were only around in their debut form- a.k.a. Atari and the original Nintendo.  I owned neither of these items.  Boy, how times have changed.  All three of my children already know how to work my iPad each with various abilities influenced by age.  Currently my four year old is learning how to operate a traditional desktop computer and my two year old watches with stubborn, excited dedication.  He, too wants his turn. In our house rather than resisting this wave of technology, we embrace it.  The various devices that supply … [Read more...]

LISTERINE® and REACH® Healthy Habits for a Lifetime Oral Care Challenge Update!

For the past month my family has taken part in the LISTERINE® and REACH® Healthy Habits for a Lifetime Oral Care Challenge (view my initial post here).  There are a number of interesting observations I have learned about my family during this time regarding our oral hygiene. 1.  My four year old son now LOVES mouth wash.  He currently thinks it is the best thing ever.  He has already finished his bottle and has moved on to his older brother's.  I am completely surprised by his dedication to gargling and while he does need quite a bit more practice in actually cleaning his mouth this way, he … [Read more...]

Repurposing Coffee Creamer Bottles Easter Themed Kid’s Craft

I have gone through a lot of coffee creamer bottles in my day.  I cringe to think about it.  A little while ago it suddenly occurred to me that I might alleviate some of my guilt if I re-purposed some of these bottles.   Keep in mind I didn't vow to drink less coffee or use less creamer.  I just vowed to put the bottles to good use! My idea?  A simple kid friendly Easter decoration.  Obviously if you are using a coffee creamer bottle you are not making something with a lot of classic style:)  Instead my objective was building self-esteem and a sense of accomplishment in my four year … [Read more...]

HALO Safe Sleep Crib Set Review

I remember that first night in the hospital the day my daughter was born like it was yesterday, even though it was already 5 years ago.  I opted to have her sleep in the room with me, instead of having her go to the nursery.  As she lay in her little bassinet next to my bed, I think I slept with one eye open the entire night, just to keep an eye on her and make sure she was safe.  As parents, there is nothing more important than ensuring that our infants stay safe while they sleep. After we brought her home from the hospital, I was always very careful to make sure there was nothing in her crib … [Read more...]
