Fashion is fun, to me. I’m not particularity trendy or a fashionista by any means, but I like pulling together an outfit on occasion. This weekend and I went mega clothing shopping and I was appalled and disgusted by many of the current fashions available. Some of the colors were awful, I mean neon awful. Neon yellow, pink, or orange just isn’t a good choice for anyone. And don’t even get me started on the styles! Okay, it’s too late I’m going to get into it!
Here are my observations. While I was teaching high school over seven years ago I noticed how girls fashions had dramatically changed since I was in school. I realize I’m older, I graduated high school in 1995, but I am not ancient. But some of the girls I taught wore clothes way too revealing, especially at their young age. Of course not all girls dressed this way, but all too often I would see cleavage the size of The Grand Canyon being thrust in my direction and everyone else’s. Since when has it become fashionable to let it all hang out? I real source of the problem is a lack of common sense parenting, but I will refrain from that topic as I could write several blog posts:)
Instead let me lead you to Mikarose a women’s clothing line dedicated to reinventing modesty. When I hear the word modesty, as it applies to fashion, I tend of think of nuns and the Amish. But don’t be alarmed Mikarose is nothing of that nature. Mikarose is the kind of clothing that should be the norm. Fashionable and stylish, yet not trashy. I recently received a 1/2 sleeve flower top in teal. The shirt is fashionably cut, with gathered sleeves and a tight fit.
This is my attempt at fashion photography, I think I will stick to food:)
I wore an undershirt with the top as it is a perfect length for most people, but I am super long-waisted and I like another layer of modesty:) This shirt is also available in pink coral, plum, and white.
After checking out the website I immediately found many items I would love to purchase. Here are some of my personal favorites!
I love, love, love this dress!
This Paisley Skirt is so fun!
This Double Ruffle Top is also a great option!
If you are not a fan of current clothing stores styles I highly recommend checking out the fashionable choices at Mikarose! And don’t forget to connect via Facebook and Twitter for special promotions.
