Outfitted for the Snowy Outside with Free Country

In case you might not have realized, I live in Minnesota.  I know there are a bunch of you, who live in a land of snow this time of year too.  For all you people that have warm sunshine and moderate temperatures- I highly dislike you right now.  Don’t get me wrong.  I love my snowy Christmas.  I even love a good snowstorm.  But by the time March rolls around, I’m done.  I’m ready for green once again.

Regardless of my wishes, I have tons of snow in my backyard.  Clearly, winter is not over yet.  Luckily, I am bound to stay snug now matter how much the wind blows with my new Free Country coat.  I must admit I had never heard of this online company before, but based on my experience I am now a fan.

My coat is the Women’s Tahoe Power Down Jacket.  It is a truly epic name for a coat, isn’t it? I must admit I was a little nervous selecting such a potentially large and bulky jacket.

I currently own a down jacket, but it falls at the waist.  When the northern wind blows, I have been left wanting something a bit longer.  Clearly, this coat would save my behind from the cool breeze:)  But what about bulk?  I detest bulky, heavy jackets.  I have three boys that constantly need help.  I can’t have a winter coat getting in my way and potentially slowing me down.

I am happy to report that my Tahoe jacket is the perfect weight and thickness for me.  I am warm, but not weighted down.  I can move with ease.  And I love the cut of the jacket.  Instead of a standard cut, this coat has slight gathering at the waist, creating a more feminine look.  I feel cozy, sporty, and comfortable.

A jacket such as my Tahoe would normally cost well over a hundred dollars at most stores.  Down is not necessarily a cheap item.  But at Free Country my coat is currently on sale for $90.  I found my jacket to run in a traditional size.  My jacket is a large and fits perfectly, though please keep in mind I am 5’9 and long waisted.

I may not be happy that winter is still here, but at least I am well protected from the blizzards we are bound to have this March.  Bring it on!:)
