I have been delinquent in my cooking post as of late. I have had so many other things to post, along with Easter and Mother’s Day, that I have had to minimize my cooking posts. Hopefully I can regain this habit since Mother’s Day and Easter is behind us. Last week I made America’s Test Kitchen Slow Cooker Revolution Huli Huli Chicken. Doesn’t it look like the most perfect piece of chicken? I was so amazed at how it looked. For once my food actually looked like it could be on the cover of the book. Unfortunately while the chicken looked amazing it did not taste fantastic. The chicken was in the words of my husband, “meh”. Not bad, but not amazing. Certainly not as good as it looked. Sometimes this is a mystery for me. How can something have so many wonderful spices and ingredients, look fabulous, but still taste only mediocre?
