Easy Chocolate Almond Bars

These bars are deliciously sweet and a great accompaniment to a strong black cup of coffee. Or if your taste-tester is freckle-faced and still in elementary school, like mine, a glass of milk would do.

Consider this a warning, these bars have equal parts flour to sugar. Enjoy!

Ingredients
  1. 2 cups flour
  2. 2 cups sugar
  3. 1 cup melted butter
  4. 4 eggs
  5. 2 tsp almond flavoring
  6. 1/2 tsp baking powder
  7. pinch of salt
Topping
  1. 1 tbsp sugar
  2. 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  3. 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients {except topping ingredients} and pour into a greased 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle with topping mix and bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
