I am super excited to begin a month long venture with some awesome fellow bloggers. Tonia from The Gunny Sack, Clair from Mummy Deals, Mackenzie from Cheerios and Lattes , and I have paired together to bring you weekly slow cooker inspiration. October is a busy month around my house and I am personally excited to make note of some delicious slow cooker recipes. I love that few minutes of prep work in the morning can provide a delicious meal at the end of the day. Easy, yummy, and family friendly~ slow cooker recipes are my ideal way to cook.
For my first weekly feature I was inspired by Slow Cooker Honey Garlic recipe from Just A Taste. This dish is a Chinese take-out inspired recipe. My husband was immediately smitten. He was intrigued by the sauce. Using hoisin and soy sauce the real twist is the blackberry jam. I did not have that particular jam in the house, so instead I used a wildberry jam, which I thought would be somewhat similar.
I also did not have green onions at the time and instead opted for fresh cilantro. Next time I think sliced green onions and cilantro would be best.
