Kalorik Immersion Stick Mixer Review & Giveaway

I have been considering purchasing an immersion blender for quite some time.  As a family we have a number of favorite soups that require pureeing.  I dutifully would use a large spoon to transfer the soup from my boiling pot into my food processor.  I have learned the hard way not to overfill my processor, as I have had a counter top full of soup on a number of occasions.

Why have I been reluctant to purchase an immersion blender if the alternative is so messy?  I was simply skeptical that an immersion blender would truly be powerful enough to get the job done.  It’s so small, how could it work effectively?

I recently had the opportunity to try an immersion blender for the first time.  I received this lime green stick mixer from Kalorik.

Here is the official lowdown.

This lime and white colored immersion handheld two-speed blender quickly purees soups, blends batters, mixes beverages, and more. The unit’s stainless-steel blade provides extremely smooth and even blending, while its protective blade guard helps prevent splattering. The blender offers one-handed operation with its lightweight design, easy-to-grip ergonomic handle, and simple push-button controls. In addition, its long shape reaches into pots, pitchers, and bowls for extended blending options, eliminating the need to dirty extra dishes. For quick clean-up, the blender’s detachable shaft can go in the dishwasher and the smooth surface of the blender body wipes clean with a damp cloth. A durable plastic mixing cup with measuring marks up the side comes included.

Features:

• Powerful 2-speed plunging mixer
• Ergonomic shape
• Detachable and dishwasher safe ABS shaft
• High temperature resistant material for mixing hot   preparations
• Stainless steel blade
• Mixing cup included
• Mixes and blends soups, sauces, milk-shakes, batter,   baby food, etc..
• 200W

I decided to put the stick mixer to the test by pureeing some Ginger Miso Carrot Soup.  The best way to show you how it works is to take a video.  You really need to see it in action.  Oh lordy, there is nothing worse than seeing yourself on video however! Yikes!

As you can see from the video the stick mixer was so easy to use and made NO mess.  And my worries about not having enough power to actually puree were completely put to rest.  My soup turned out smooth and delicious.  I really wish I had not waited so long to get one.  There are relatively inexpensive for a kitchen appliance and are currently on sale for $29.99.

If you ever need to puree a soup I highly recommend getting this stick mixer from Kalorik.
