Calling all Minnesota Mama Report readers! I love supporting Minnesota causes and I recently heard of an event called HAMMS (Help A Minnesota Maker Succeed). One day (May 3rd, 2014 from 10am- 4pm) local vendors host a market for consumers to conveniently shop small businesses. The philosophy of “shopping local” has been increasing in popularity across the country and HAMMS is a Minnesota twist on this idea.
This year the event is already set with a multitude of vendors selling a variety of products. Beautiful jewelry from Tess and Tricia, yummy chocolate goodies from Droolin’ Moose, and fashionable styles from KoKoon plus much more.
Here are the details-
May 3rd, 2014
Location: OLD HAMM’S BREWERY SHIPPING DOCKS IN SAINT PAUL, MN
Ticket price: $10 online or $15 at the door
One of the best aspects of this event is that up to $5000 of the money raised from ticket sales will be given to one lucky merchant! One particular entrepreneur will receive that extra boost to help them succeed.
I’m realistic. Of course I’m going to visit my Costco store to stock up on milk, apples, and other necessities of life. But sometimes you gotta breakout of the chains and embrace local merchants. Personally I find these type of unique shops to be the perfect place to shop for Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Christmas and birthday presents. And of course, nothing beats the satisfaction of supporting your neighbor.
One lucky Mama Report reader will win (2) tickets to HAMMS.
