I must admit, my boys didn’t know what to make of this movie at first.  The characters are odd.  There is certainly no denying that fact.  But there is something undeniably alluring about colorful, cute talking characters that has children naturally transfixed.  Even my eight year was strangely amused by this tale, though of course he would never admit it:)  My children had no clue who the special guest stars were (Toni Braxton, Cloris Leachman, Christopher Lloyd, Chazz Palmnteri, Cary Elwes, and Jaime Pressly), but it was fun seeing these stars in this silly children’s show.  This is kind of like the star guests on Sesame Street.  The brilliance of this movie lies in the fact that it encourages children to sing and dance right with them.  Obviously, this movie is geared for little kids who would not want to sit still for extended periods of time anyway, but the interactive nature keeps them engaged.  Bottom line- this movie is a good fit for little kids ages 2-5.
