Sometimes gift giving can be a daunting task. It seems like once you reach a certain age in life you mostly have everything you need. Obviously there are occasional exceptions, but for many people their “want” wish is fairly small. For those people that seemingly have everything, finding a great gift is difficult.

I love this idea and I must admit I have started to turn to this alternative gift giving idea in recent years. Last Christmas I gave Nana and my husband a Boundary Waters canoe experience. They had always been talking about how much they loved the Boundary Waters area of Minnesota and so I shipped them off on a fully equipped canoe trip. They had a great time and rather than physically owning another “thing” they now have the memories of their experience.

We live in Chicagoland – and aside from the sadly common reality of having VERY limited funds to have fun with (after trying to pay all the unfun bills) we sometimes forget what a marvelous city Chicago is to explore and Xperience!
We both love to eat out and explore all the exciting culinary options Chicago has to offer… – but money (or rather the lack of it!) is always prohibitive. I’d love to be able to splurge and celebrate our upcoming 20 year Anniversary by taking on the the Chicago Food Tours for Two – especially the The Near North Tour!
