This book is an absolute must for fans of The Modern Girl’s Guide to Motherhood and The Girlfriend’s Guide to Surviving the First Year—with indispensible advice that hot moms like Courtney Cox, Jennifer Garner, Trista Sutter, Kristi Yamaguchi, and Brooke Burns have already taken to heart!
You’ve made it through nine months of baby bump, but now baby has arrived and it’s a whole new set of rules. Not sure how to navigate this brave new world and new you?
From Jessica Denay, founder of the Hot Moms Club, comes the ultimate resource for moms of all ages trying to balance everything from playdate to date night, nightlife to nightlight. I was skeptical before I opened The Hot Mom’s Handbook. Sure everyone wants to be hot, but isn’t it presumptuous to assume that you are indeed, hot? Well, I need not have been so worried, because the title isn’t quite what I thought. Rather than being “hot” in a purely physical sense, a Hot Mom is more than that. Here is a description of what a Hot Mom is by the author.
“What exactly is a Hot Mom? A Hot Mom is confident and empowered. It doesn’t matter what age you are, what shape or size, EVERY mom can be a Hot Mom! It’s a choice. It’s an attitude and a way of being. It’s knowing that you are not the best mom unless you are the best YOU.”
With that definition of a Hot Mom who doesn’t want to be one? The Hot Mom Handbook is an amazing resource for…..EVERYTHING. I was really blown away by the wide variety of topics that are discussed. It is like absolutely everything relating to being a mom and woman is included in the book. Make up, clothes, cleaning, diet, exercise, romance, sex, baby products….the list goes on and on. This book is a MUST have for any new or expecting mother. Attending a baby shower anytime soon? This would make a great gift. You flatter the mom by calling her a Hot Mom, but when she actually reads it she has an awesome reference at her fingertips. The book is written (purposely) in small sections which are easy to read in many sittings. Jessica understands that a mom just isn’t going to have the time to read long passages and small detailed parts make for the most effective grasp of the information. Here is a sample of some of the sections included in the book.
Baby on a Budget– which provides cheaper alternatives
Stuff to Drool Over– obviously, this provides those crazy expensive items that celebrities and millionaires can purchase and the average mom does indeed drool over
Eco-Minded Mama– this section provides energy efficient or environmentally friendly alternatives
Overall I found The Hot Mom’s Handbook to be a positive helpful guide to being a mom. It is so easy to lose yourself in motherhood, but this book helps a woman claim a sense of herself.
