Dishin’ Up Straight Talk at Ivory’s The Soap Dish

Sometimes being a mom can be an isolating experience.  Once when my husband was out of town for a couple of days I never had a conversation with another adult.  For three entire days my social interactions occurred only with a six, three, and one year old.    I have a number of friends both new and old I could have contacted via phone, internet, or even met face-to-face.   Yet, I didn’t.   I was sucked into the vortex of “motherhood”.

I love my boys with a passion and I am frequently consumed by their needs.  At times it can feel like I’m the only woman in the world experiencing these joys, concerns, annoyances, and struggles.   The truth is, of course, that so many mothers have common experiences.  Anytime I connect with a fellow mother I am reminded and reassured that I am not alone.  Connecting with other women and mothers is fun and one of the best ways to gain new insights.

With that thought in mind I ask YOU my readers to join with me at Ivory’s The Soap Dish.  You might remember me mentioning  Melissa McCarthy‘s involvement with Ivory’s online community The Soap Dish.   For a number of months Melissa lead a dialogue (humorously, of course) regarding various woman/motherhood related topics.  Now for the month of January I will be leading this discussion.  Wow, that’s not intimidating at all?!  I normally follow in the foot steps of an award winning movie and TV actress.   Yikes!

Don’t worry, I won’t be dissecting the political climate in our nation or pondering the greatest mysteries of our universe.  The Soap Dish is light-hearted and simple.  Three times a week, Monday/Wednesday/Friday, I will post a question and would love for you to join the conversation.  Once you “like” Ivory via Facebook look for The Soap Dish tag on the left side.  Once you enter The Soap Dish there are a number of interactive features including a weekly poll.

Let’s dish’ together on life as a woman and mother.  Join the conversation and add your insights, thoughts, and experiences.  My first question is already posted check it out.  I can’t wait to hear your responses:)

I have been compensated as a guest blogger for Ivory’s The Soap Dish, however all opinions are my own.
