Eureka AirSpeed ABS Upright Vacuum Cleaner Review & Giveaway

I have been in need of a vacuum for quite some time.  My last vacuum died a rather dramatic death.

Can vacuums die?

We’ll this one certainly did.

I must prepare you, what you’re about to see, it may be hard to look at.

Oh, the horror, the horror!

This vacuum is no longer with our family and has moved on to broken appliance heaven (fancy term for the dump!).

I have been using Nana’s vacuum, but I am pleased to announce that I am the new owner of a

Eureka AirSpeed ABS Upright Vacuum Cleaner!

Isn’t it pretty?

Can you love a vacuum?

Hmmmmm….since I think a vacuum can die, I also believe that I can love it.  And I love this new, easy-to-use, deep cleaning, sleek looking vacuum.

Here is the official information-

The newest vacuum from Eureka is AirSpeed ABS:

  • The Eureka AirSpeed ABS upright vacuum cleaner combines the suction power of popular AirSpeed Technology with the sanitary, dust-locking features of a bagged vacuum to form a formidable opponent against dirt.
  • The result?  AirSpeed ABS cleans carpets better than Dyson DC25 at 1/2 the price!*
  • The force behind AirSpeed ABS’s powerful clean is its AirSpeed Technology.
  • Most other vacuums propel air through a long nozzle and hose system full of twists and texturing, which results in lost suction.
  • AirSpeed Technology uses two wide smooth tubes with limited bends and turns, allowing more air to pass through the vacuum.
  • The direct air path from floor to dust cup decreases the distance for dirt to travel, which increases the amount of airflow for powerful suction.
  •  Unlike other models in the AirSpeed line – all of which are bagless – AirSpeed ABS uses replaceable, disposable bags to capture dust and debris and completely contain dirt and allergens.

Now let me tell you about my experience.  I have three little boys, the youngest will be turning two years old soon.  My house is always littered full of crumbs.  I should use a vacuum everyday.  Of course, I’m not nearly that perfect and I consider it a good week if I vacuum twice.  I actually enjoy vacuuming.  I don’t know what it is exactly, but there is something gratifying about all those little crumbs being sucked up and taken away.  That being said, I do NOT like to sweep.  It seems like a fruitless endeavor to me.   I can sweep my dirt into a little pile, but it is impossible to actually place on the tray.  It seems like too much work to me.  My solution?  I vacuum, of course.  This means I need a vacuum that can work on the carpet and tile.  Not a problem for my new Eurkea AirSpeed!  Notice in the picture below how I can easily change the setting of the vacuum accordingly.

Lets take a look at some of the other features available on this particular model.  Notice that with a simple turn of a button I can switch to tools instead of floors.  Be sure to check out my video where I forget this important part!

There is also a window to indicate when the bag is getting full.  And there is a simple red button to turn it on and a gray button to make the vacuum horizontal or vertical.

I read a review online that mentioned they thought the vacuum foot buttons (up/down & on/off) were hard to get to.  I’m don’t know who wrote the review, but I can attest that this is ridiculous.  Foot pedals are so easy to use and these particular ones did not require any additional effort.  It is truly simple to turn it off or one and make the vacuum vertical or horizontal.  I have found the head of the vacuum to be a great shape and size.  I can easily get in crevices and other hard to reach areas that many other vacuums can not.

Check out some of the features in my little video!  Notice my goof!  Don’t forget to make sure to select the “tool” option when you want to use the tools.  Can you tell I haven’t created many video reviews!  There is nothing worse than listening and seeing yourself on camera!  Yikes!

Check out the professional Eureka video and learn about the AirSpeed technology that makes this vacuum work so well!

You can currently purchase this vacuum cleaner at Walmart for $128.88.  I definitely believe this is a great vacuum at a great price.  I would not have thought a vacuum this reasonably priced could perform so well and work so easily!

One lucky Mama Report reader will win a Eureka AirSpeed ABS Upright Vacuum Cleaner of their own!  Yippee!!  (ARV $128.88)

I received the above mentioned product for review purposes, all opinions are my own.

Help my vacumn died a horrible death, she spit and spat and choked and that was the end, she could breathe no more.. even after a surgery to repair her, she was gone… and what is worst she left behind a hair infested rug, 3 pomeranians and 4 Pom puppies and only a lonely old broom to take her place.. so be nice to the lady of the house and enter her name in your giveaway..

  16. Thank you…I am following everything and tweeting. My vacuum is on its last leg with duct tape around the entire stretchy part of the hose and it does not pick up like it use to. It is not a pretty site. I cringe everytime I have to look at it. We also need a carpet cleaner (that died a few months ago after a good eight years) and a vacuum. I am hoping that my prayers will be answered, so I can afford the other.

OH MY GOSH!!! I’m SO EXCITED reading this review. Vacuums make me SO HAPPY! And yet I am in DESPERATE need of a new one! Seriously I vacuum my entire house AT LEAST once a day. It’s my thing. I feel if the floors are clean then it just makes everything else not so bad. Not sure why. Anyway, my poor vacuum I’m sad to say is not too far from that first picture. Thanks so much for the review and the chance!!

    I liked Eureka!

  33. We’ll be upgrading to a 2-story house soon, from a studio apartment, and our itty-bitty cordless, rechargeable vacuum, I’m afraid, will not do the job at the new place. The battery only holds a charge for about 10 minutes of work, & I can barely get everything adequately vacuumed in that time frame in this tiny apartment! Thank you for the opportunity at an awesome giveaway!

  34. I would be ecstatic to win this my vacumm stinks!!
