A classic love story unfolds in the best Disney tradition as a lovely young pedigreed cocker spaniel named Lady, who lives a pampered life, finds herself falling romantically for Tramp, an amorous street-smart pooch without prospects. Although they have fun together on several dates, including a sentimental spaghetti dinner by moonlight at Tony’s restaurant, their relationship is strained not only by Lady’s loyalty to her human family and their newborn baby, but by Tramp’s devil-may-care attitude that eventually gets Lady in trouble and tossed into the dog pound. However, good-hearted Tramp redeems himself by saving the baby from potential harm and thus wins Lady’s love and the affection of her human family.

My thoughts-

Lady and the Tramp is classic Disney.   It is time this sentimental and multi-generational movie has been updated for a new audience.  My four year old had never seen the movie before and I sat down to watch it with him one snowy day.  I predicted he would enjoy all the dog characters and of course he did.  This story is a bit different from his usual and favorite Power Ranger/kung fu inspired television and while he enjoyed the story I’m not sure that is one he will choose to watch repetitively.  Ironically my seven year old loves the movie even though I would have thought he would find it silly.  I guess you can just never predict some things.  Regardless this classic will remain in our collection as I like having the option for my children.  While they may prefer some other more “fighting” inspired tales, I like to slip in a little love story every now and then:)
