Updating Your Handbag for Spring/Summer with Guess & Macy’s (#CBias)

Handbag fashion is ever changing.  New styles are unleashed every season.  My motto has been to stick with a classic black leather purse.  It is timeless, tasteful, and useful.  Not only has my handbag been my purse for the last number of years, it has also been used as a diaper and snack bag.   After my first child was born I had the standard diaper bag, but with the arrival of my second I knew it was time to toss the diaper bag away (or rather donate it to Goodwill).  I wanted a bag that could meet all my needs and looked great at the same time.  It was then I purchased my black book bag style purse.

This purse has served me well over the years and has been my only handbag.  I still love black, but it is time for a change.  Sure, we are in the midst of the winter doldrums, but spring and summer will return again.  And this year in uncharacteristic form, I am looking for color.  But with the lively color the purse must still look classic and sophisticated.  I have seen a variety of handbags that look less than attractive on women and I want to make sure my new purse is fashionable.  Also I am looking to downsize a bit.  My children are getting older now and my youngest has only a limited amount of time left in diapers (less than a year I hope!) so a smaller purse would be a wise option.

One a cold and blustery Saturday, Nana and I heading to Macy’s to check out the selection.

Our Macy’s store has the best selection and styles of handbags in town.

Nana and I quickly get to “work” checking out all our options.

Nana likes this one (above picture), but it isn’t what I’m looking for.  I think she is drawn to the blue!

I really like this stylish bag.  I am naturally drawn to neutral colors!

I am not normally an orange kind of gal, but the colors of this purse really catch my eye!

I must admit I had performed a little research online and was hoping to find this purse (below) from the Guess CONFESSION line.

No such luck for me!  Macy’s was full of Michael Kors, Fossil, Dooney & Burke, Betsey Johnson, and Coach, but had a limited supply of Guess purses.

I head to the mirror to make my final selection.  I just love the pop of color this purse provides!  Orange and pink look great together!

Its official, I decide to purse the lively pink & orange purse.  I will, of course, keep my black one, but now I have a splash of color to add to my wardrobe.

When I get the purse home I full investigate the inside.

There is plenty of room for all my items, but it is a bit smaller than my black one.  I am definitely pleased.

And while you can still see the winter snow outside my window, I am ready for spring and summer!  How many more months till it’s green again?

  1. I so love looking at all these great purses. I love seeing how the styles change and the colors that are popular.

  2. If you don’t mind me asking, how much is that one you got? It looks like it goes well with blue jeans. Thx!
