If you haven’t heard of Veggie Tales you’ve been living in the woods or you don’t have a child under the age of six.  Never have vegetables looked so cute.  Larry the Cucumber?  Adorable!  I never thought I would say that about a cucumber.  When I first heard of Veggie Tales it was actually before I had children and I thought the idea of singing vegetables was ridiculous.  Then I actually became a parent and  totally understood the appeal.  As a parent you want your children to watch characters that are good and wholesome.  Having life-like vegetable characters is secretly telling your kids that veggies are COOL!  You can never have too many positive reinforcements about the likability of vegetables.  Then there is the matter of the stories also.  Veggie Tales stories in general, including Happy Together, tell stories that teach your child about the important things in life.  Family, friendship, and making wise decisions are ideas that are at the heart of all Veggie Tales stories.  The stories are usually rooted in some form of a traditional Bible story and there are references about God within the movies.  The movies do a good job of teaching lessons without being preachy or judgmental.  The overall message from the movies is to love one another and treat everyone well.

My two older boys love Veggie Tales movies and they were overjoyed to watch Happy Together.  I love knowing that my boys are watching something that is violence free.  As boys they love superhero shows and anything involving some form of physical action.   Frequently after watching shows with fighting moves they like to reenact some of the scenes.   That in-veritably leads to some kind of trouble.  Luckily after they watch Happy Together or any other Veggies Tales movie there is no fighting involved!

I would definitely recommend Happy Together or ANY other Veggie Tales movies.

I received the Happy Together DVD to review, however all opinions are my own.
