I’m surprised it took so long for someone to invent SeatPets. Every parent has desperately tried to wedge some sort of soft object to help secure their child’s head as they are sleeping in the car. Jackets, towels, hats- sometimes I’ve had to be creative in an attempt to give my children a little bit of comfort.
SeatPets attach to seat belts, providing storage and comfort to little riders. Notice, however that they are not meant for use with traditional 5 point harness carseats. They need to be used with an actual seatbelt. Therefore the only child in my family who could actually use the SeatPet was my eight year old. (I also have a five and three year old) Obviously, someone needs to pursue a comfy attachable device for them as well.
The idea is simple and effective. The SeatPet attaches to the seatbelt providing a comfy head for your little one’s head. No more droopy, swaying sleeping heads. This Airheart model is soft and cuddly. My son was delighted. It took approximately one minute to install.
A simple concept, fitted fabric covers for vehicle seat belts, goes five steps further and provides an incentive for kids to buckle up . Not only do they offer a soft resting place but are designed with three pockets and two zippered compartments to store their car ride stuff. Moms no longer have to stop or reach around to offer a snack, juice box, toy or ear buds because they are already stowed in their SeatPets. The brand new plush travel toy is available in three monster styles — Whish, Awty (Are We There Yet) and Airheart.

In the time since we first received our SeatPet (a couple weeks), I’ve noticed that it is best suited for long distance trips. While the SeatPet is comfy and soft, on our normal day-to-day activities in the car it gets in the way. Of course, some kids would love to have a SeatPet awaiting them every time they get into the car, but for my family it is going to remain a long trip essential.
SeatPets come in three different styles and are machine washable (thank goodness!).
