On the Road….

We are officially on our epic road trip.  We are driving from Minnesota to Washington state.
That within itself is not the big deal.  The big deal is that we have three children- ages 6 1/2 years,
almost 4 years old, and 20 months.  Yikes!  Day one was a breeze.  Lets hope the rest of the trip is as
easy.  I will be posting here and there, but I am not sure what I will be able to accomplish at this
point. I will be also updating with glimpses of our trip.  We will be seeing a few sights along the way.
Our ultimately destination is Seattle, where family awaits.

All this being said, when I get back I have a surprise giveaway planned.  I will be giving away a way for
you to “record” your family vacations and memories in the years to come.  More details when I return:)

Are you traveling anywhere this summer?
Do you have any suggestions for traveling with kids?

When we were little and traveled far away we always us to see how many tractor trailers we could get to honk their horn, we also tried to see how many different state license plates we could find on the cars driving down the road. I spy is also a fun game to play but that can get old.
Now with my little ones, when we go on a long trip I make sure I have the double dvd player with us. We’ll also count and sing songs. Look at all the neat things along the way too, like different trees, airplanes, and mountains. Or even different signs along the way.

Thanks so much Tina! What great ideas! I am definitely going to use some of these ideas! So far so good, but it is always good to have some ideas in my back pocket!

  2. Hope you have a great time! I remember traveling with little ones, can be hard but I loved sitting in the back and relishing when they got sleepy and would lay their heads on my shoulders, one on each side, and watching the scenery, and getting drowsy myself…it just felt cozy and relaxing. Hope you enjoy it all!
