Hampton Hotel & Suites- Eagan, Minnesota Review

My family took a mini vacation to the Cities this past weekend.  For those of you who aren't from Minnesota, "the Cities" means St. Paul and Minneapolis.  We live just a little over an hour away, but with the kids being so little it can make for a long day to drive there and back in one day.  We decided to stay at the Hampton Hotel & Suites in Eagan (a suburb of the Cities).  I picked this particular hotel because it offers a continental breakfast and a swimming pool.  My kids love having breakfast at the hotel as I let them eat in the room while they watch TV.  This never happens for … [Read more...]

President’s View Mt. Rushmore, Keystone, South Dakota Review

photo courtesy of Expedia.com The President's View Mt. Rushmore, Keystone, South Dakota In our cross country journey we stayed at quite a few hotels.  We mostly stayed at Super 8's and found a variety of amenities and comfort.  Our final night of our epic road trip we stayed at The President's View Mt. Rushmore, Keystone, South Dakota.  This night was supposed to be special since it was the only place that we had stayed at that had a pool and was the last night of our epic road trip.   I picked this hotel merely because of the fact that it was near Mt. Rushmore.  We wanted to wake up the … [Read more...]

Home Sweet Home- Images from our Epic Road Trip

Last night we arrived safe and sound back to our corner of the world.  Boy, does it feel good to be home!  We had a wonderful trip seeing some amazing sights and had a great time visiting with family and friends, but nothing beats your own bed and your own surroundings.  I'm sure it will feel like we never left in a couple of days, but I'm enjoying my simple pleasures for the moment anyway. Here are some of the highlights of our trip.  Is anybody else taking a road trip this summer?  Feel free to comment below! No trip is complete without a visit to the Giant Prairie Chicken!  Rothsay, … [Read more...]

On the Road….

We are officially on our epic road trip.  We are driving from Minnesota to Washington state. That within itself is not the big deal.  The big deal is that we have three children- ages 6 1/2 years, almost 4 years old, and 20 months.  Yikes!  Day one was a breeze.  Lets hope the rest of the trip is as easy.  I will be posting here and there, but I am not sure what I will be able to accomplish at this point. I will be also updating with glimpses of our trip.  We will be seeing a few sights along the way. Our ultimately destination is Seattle, where family awaits. All this being said, when … [Read more...]

Village People Hil-ton Ho-tel Package in Branson, Missouri

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hiltons of Branson for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. I have fond memories of dancing and singing to the song "Y.M.C.A". as a child.  My cousins and I would dance and spell out the letters with our arms.  When my older cousin Jessica taught me this dance I remember thinking it was soooo cool.  I love how music can trigger memories that otherwise would have been forgotten. The 70’s will come alive in front of your eyes on May 13th at the Branson Tri-Lakes Center. Your favorite groups from the disco era, the Village People, … [Read more...]

Minnesota Children’s Museum Lego Castle Exhibit Review

We braved the snow and cold for a special trip to the Minnesota Children's Museum in St. Paul.  My kids love this discovery, learning place and were excited to see the new Lego Castle exhibit.  Swords, knights, castles, legos- it is a recipe made in little boy heaven and my boys are no exception.  The exhibit has an assortment of activities for kids of all ages.  My youngest was able to play in a carpeted area with huge, soft Legos.  I had never seen that particular kind of Legos before and they were a big hit with my 16 months and 3 year old.  Here they are … [Read more...]

Hilton Milwaukee City Center Review

photo courtesy of HiltonMilwaukee.com We had the opportunity to stay at the Hilton City Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin right before Christmas.  We were in town to see The Christmas Carol at the Pabst Theater.  We have a tradition of seeing the play every year at the Pabst, but his was our first time staying at the Hilton.  I had no idea what was in store for my family!  We had been driving for over four hours to arrive in Milwaukee and by the time we did arrive we were tired.  Three kids in a van for any length of time can be a recipe for trouble.  I knew the parking ramp at the Hilton would be … [Read more...]
