The sweltering heat of summer creates an intense need to create cooling treats. I was going to write that children require these sweets, but really adults do too:) My family loves homemade popsicles. There just isn’t any tastier way to chill down. Plus my children take a certain satisfaction in creating their own treats. The process is a simple delight for my little guys.
We recently tried a Frozen Pie Pop recipe from Lucky Leaf. Like most popsicle recipes is was easy and it made for some delicious treats. Unlike water based popsicles that can be watered down, these pops were rich with strawberry flavor. We, obviously, choose strawberry pie filing for our pops, but you can use whichever flavor you’d like.
I had some happy fellas……
My advice? I recommend eating these popsicles or any frozen pops OUTSIDE when little kids are involved. Inevitably someone is going to lose part of theirs. Frozen Pie Pops can simply drip onto the grass with no worries of clean-up. Of course, you still have to clean the kid, but isn’t that what the garden hose is for?:)
