Cinnamon Pecan Baguette Bites Recipe & a Giveaway

This post was created in collaboration with Disney-Hyperion in support of Nanette’s Baguette. All opinions are my own.

Nanette is very excited to eat her first baguette. But when she eats it…..uff da. Too much bread! This quirky book could be written with my youngest son in mind. In anticipation of a delightful treat he is giddy, excited and over-the-top thrilled. However, once he has devoured most of it, his glee has turned to gloom. Perhaps it’s not just a mistake made my the young? I know I have had the same experience as well…..

Full disclosure this book is a tongue twister that will leave you working hard to make sure you pronounce every word correctly. If you are like me, you’ll enjoy the challenge of read this book to your kids with as much skill and speed as possible. Mo Willems doesn’t write traditional children’s books and this new release shows of his silly side once again.

Inspired by the the baguette in this book I decided to create my own baguette recipe. I definitely don’t advocate for eating the entire baguette this way. Everything in moderation, right? But this super simple recipe is a great trick to keep in your back pocket for random impromptu entertaining or as a snack to fill little tummies.

Simply cut a baguette into small pieces and then cut in half. Spread with cream cheese. {I used a pecan version.} And then sprinkle with your favorite toppings. I added a little bit of chopped pecans and cinnamon. Of course, there are lots of different options available. This makes for a fast and easy snack or appetizer!
