Are you in recipe overload? I know I am. I have cookbooks, recipe cards, pages ripped out of magazines, and bookmarked recipes online all in various places. I have dreamed of a system than could bring everything together. I just recently discovered Cook’n 10 and all my dreams have come true:)
First of all let me tell you I have not nearly begun to tap into the full potential that exists within this program. It has so many handy features and capabilities, that as I learn more I am truly impressed. This program was obviously created by people who understand what cooks want in today’s society. I know I want the ability to use modern technology to assist me in the kitchen. Sure, occasionally it is fine to grab an old cookbook and plop it down in front of you. But searching for recipes this way can be a pain. Having all your recipes in one centralized location is amazing.
Check out this brief video for an idea of what you can do with this program. The girl in the video is obviously very excited about cooking:) I can assure you I am not that happy of a cook. But I love what she does! This is what I want to be able to do for my family.
I’m not going to attempt to explain all the capabilities and features available within this program, but let me breakdown the gist of it.
1. The most obvious feature. Recipe organization. Instead of having recipes everywhere Cook’n collects them all for you so you can access them at the click of a button. No more blindly looking through folders trying to find a particular recipe. Instead I can simply type it into Cook’n for easy access.
2. How do you get your recipes into Cook’n? My new and favorite way to try new recipes is by following blogs and sites online. Professional chefs and just your average mom are making some extraordinary things available via the internet. It is so easy to capture these recipes and collect them in Cook’n. I don’t know how it works? I’m not that technically, but it is like recipe magic and it so simple.
Within your program you can select search and the screen will look like this.
After typing in the name of the recipe I would like a list of choices will be available. For this example I used cinnamon buns.
This is just a small sampling of the recipe available. If I was to scroll down there were many more to pick from. I selected the recipe from Joy of Baking. Once I click on it, it will appear on the screen like so.
Then I press Capture.
The recipe has been captured. You might want to look it over to make sure everything is accurate, but the program captures the recipe. Sometimes there are little glitches as some items might not transfer over perfectly, but this is not the norm.
Once I select view I can see my recipe! Check this out! Notice that I did not capture the entire recipe to show you. I need to scroll down to view the rest of it. But its there!
To me this is the most amazing feature within this program. No more searching online trying to find that one recipe I vaguely remember. Instead I can have it saved within my program with a simple click of a button. Amazing! Like I said I can’t explain how it works, I just know it is fabulous!
3. Now that I have a recipe within my program I can choose to print it if I desire. I can print with picture or without and in various sizes. I can also make a cookbook! Know you can take all those valuable family recipes and print out a copy for your entire family. As a family history buff I love this!
4. The program also comes with other helpful tools that I haven’t had a chance to fully explore yet including- menu planning, nutritional information, shopping list creator, and an included cookbook.
What I also appreciate is that the creators are constantly looking to improve their program. They did not create this program only to sit back and reap in the profits. Isn’t it obviously when a product is like that? Instead they attempt to stay at the forefront of recipe organization. “At the current time, Cook’n is the only program in the recipe software industry which is compatible with PCs, Macs, iPads, iPhones, and Androids.” I can’t wait to try it on an iPad!
One lucky Mama Report reader will win their own Cook’n 10!
Please use the Rafflecopter entry method.
Winner will be verified.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
