I grew up with a container of Quaker oatmeal in my cupboard throughout my childhood.  I suspect this is not an original experience:)  In fact when I think of oatmeal, the Quaker looking guy is the first image that pops into my head.  Oatmeal and the Quaker guy go hand in hand.

Now, it is not only oatmeal that can produce an imagine of Quaker, but also a wide variety of other products as well.  Yummy cereal, bars, cookies, and of course still the oatmeal so many of us grew up with.

I recently had the privileged to sample a variety of Quaker products- some I was previously familiar with, while other I sampled for the very first time.   However, with the wide range of products available I easily had a Quaker product to keep my energy up the entire day.  Let’s take a look.

Quaker Oatmeal Squares cereal has expanded its lineup with a new Honey Nut flavor, which features a nutty taste, a hearty crunch and just the right amount of honey flavored sweetness to help fuel you up to conquer the day.

Oh, Quaker Oatmeal Squares- this cereal is well known at my home.  Honestly, I can’t keep a full box in the house.  The average life expectancy of an opened box of Quaker Oatmeal Squares is a day and a half.  Three hungry, growing boys just can’t get enough of this cereal goodness.  Thank goodness they are getting a dose of whole-grain!

Quaker Instant Oatmeal has a new Chocolate Chip variety that packs delicious, real chocolate chips in wholesome, whole-grain oatmeal.

When my eldest son was little every morning he would eat instant oatmeal.  This staple was the cross between baby food to real food for him.  And though his tastes have expanded, luckily he still enjoys a bowl of oatmeal.  Now especially with the cold weather imminent, there is nothing better than a bowl of steaming hot oatmeal on a cold morning.  Plus with chocolate chips, it’s a treat as well!

Quaker Soft Baked Cookies and Crunchy Oat Granola Cookies combine the goodness of whole grain Quaker oats with real ingredients, like fruit and crunchy nuts.

Most of us would like to make our own homemade cookies.  But sometimes life gets in the way of home baked goodness.   If you are need of homemade like taste, but are short on time these cookies fit the bill.  My boys would have told me that they like them, but their mouths were too busy chowing down.  I heard something about raisins, but I’m not sure.  All I know is each cookie was gone in about one minute.  Busy boys are more than willing to stuff themselves silly with cookies.

Quaker Yogurt Granola Bars provide the rich tastes you crave in a snack you can feel better about, with 12 grams of whole grains and calcium from the creamy yogurt coating.

These bars are not new to my house.  My boys are big fans.  I find that these yogurt dipped real fruit bars are great to have on hand for life’s speedy moments.  What I’m referring to is when I’m barreling down the road on one of many adventures and inevitably one boys yells out- “I’m hungry”.  Soon a chorus of “I”m hungry too” fills the van.  I simple grab a bar and fling it into the back.  Yep, that’s how I roll.

Notice my eldest son’s amused look.  What this means is “Mom, I’m going to humor you by letting you take a picture of my awesome self, but hurry it up, because I gotta devour this bar, cause I’m starving (even though we ate about 30 minutes ago).

Quaker Soft Baked Bars combine the tastes of your favorite baked goods with wholesome ingredients to help provide fuel for your day.

Shhhh….don’t tell anyone.   These bars are my little secret.  My boys would be sure to inhale them at top speeds, but a mom needs something simple, easy, and tasty too.  I’m not sharing.  They don’t even know I received these.  They belong in the “secret stash”.  No one quite knows where it is, I kept moving its location.   But for the moment I am not letting anyone move my Le Creuset- it’s helpful that casserole dish is insanely heavy!

Quaker Stila Crispy Oat Cookie Bars and Bits are baked with the goodness of whole- grain oats and delicious fruit for just 100 calories – snack time has never tasted so good!


I have no idea what a “Stila” is.  It remind me of “STELLA!”, but now I know I’m officially off track, as I’m pretty sure Quaker fruit filled bars have nothing to do with Tennessee Williams.  With only 100 calories or less, these bars are light and yummy.  As you can see, my son isn’t taking his eyes of his bar for a second.  He knows I’m fast!

And last but not least, my personal favorite Quaker Whole Hearts.   Again this cereal is not new to my household, in fact I think we have tried every single variety of cereal Quaker makes.  These hearts are …. cute.  My cereal-loving five year old produces a huge smile when I pour him a bowl of this cereal.  What says, “I love you” more than heart shaped cereal?  The sweet look he gives me would make any heart melt, luckily it’s mine.

    • Yes, oatmeal is the BEST thing to serve for breakfast. We love it in the cold months, warms us up, and lasts until lunchtime.
