FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealers have been the greatest tool for preserving food for quite some time. By placing food in a bag and then removing the air, you can preserve food up to 5x longer than traditional methods. The sealers can be used on a variety of items. I love purchasing large containers of meat and than splitting up the portions. The sections of meat that I dont’ use right away need to be sealed properly for future use. The Foodsaver Sealer makes it easy to ensure my meat will be fresh and well preserved whenever I need it. Of course you can use the system on simple items as well such as leftovers. But my personal favorite way to use my FoodSaver machine is on veggies from the garden. I have preserved my own tomato sauce, zucchini, and green beans buy using this simple system.
This year my ability to keep food fresh just received an upgrade. The FoodSaver V3880 Vacuum Sealer Kit is the top selling FoodSaver system available.
Sleek simplicity describe the latest designs of the FoodSaver V3880 Fully Automatic Vacuum Sealing System. Fully automatic operation makes this model easy to operate. Two vacuum speeds (normal and gentle) and two food settings (moist and dry), take the guesswork out of food preservation. Plus, this even helps with meal preparation! The Marinate Mode allows you to take an entire day out of the cooking process. With the touch of a button, and the FoodSaver® Marinator, you can infuse meats, poultry, fish and vegetables with flavor in minutes rather than overnight. The FoodSaver® system keeps food fresh five times longer, prevents freezer burn, and saves money — up to $2,700 a year by buying in bulk, on sale and not wasting food.
This complete kit includes-
Yes, the system comes with a lot of buttons, but the directions are well explained with detailed guidelines for preparing your food. Whether your items are dry or liquid based this system works to give you the maximum amount of protection again freezer burn.
And the Marinator is so awesome!
Using the built in Accessory Hose Reel you can have marinated food in minutes instead of hours! Plus I love the fact that the hose fits neatly back into the machine!
And even the plug-in cord has a handy dandy place to wrap itself, I love it when there are no dangling cords!
With our recent membership to Costco I can envision this FoodSaver system saving us big moolah in the years to come. I need to stock up on items whenever I can in the largest quantities available- I have three boys. They already eat a ton and I imagine this is only going to increase as they grow older!
If you are looking to purchase a FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealing System I highly recommend this V3880 model. The versatile features and extra marinating option make this system the perfect family friendly option. Of course, if you have different specific needs FoodSaver has a wide variety of systems to meet everyone’s food storage needs.
See this short video which features who the FoodSaver system can save your money!

I would use it for leftovers. I’ve always wanted a system like this! I’ve tried several different types of baggies and other methods of freezing and I always wind up with freezer burned food.
