Stay Toasty Warm this Season with New England Coffee- Pumpkin Spice & Eggnog Review

Have I mentioned before my eternal love for coffee?  It is literally what gets me out of bed in the morning.  The thought of a cup of toasty warm coffee with my favorite creamer motivates me to start my day.  I’m not exactly sure how this habit formed.  In my youth I never drank coffee.  It was the icky stuff that grown ups drink.  I guess I am officially an adult now that I drink coffee.  It is an acquired taste, but once you like it there is no going back.  I am always on the look out for new tasty flavors and brands.  I recently had the opportunity to try New England Coffee for the first time.  I tried the seasonal favorites Pumpkin Spice and Eggnog.

Pumpkin Spice

Available September through December

Conjure up the perfect autumn day by filling your home with a sweet Pumpkin Spice aroma. This rich blend of sweet pumpkin flavor, infused with our Breakfast Blend gourmet beans and then sprinkled with a delicate mixture of spices, creates a perfect fall treat. Immerse your palate with this delicious taste while enjoying the scenic fall view. Best at any time of the day, sugar and spice                                                                                                does make everything nice!

The first bag I tried was Pumpkin Spice.  I was leery of this flavor since an adequate balance of flavor is a necessity.  Pumpkin flavored coffee that is screaming with artificial pumpkin is not good, nor are those that have no flavor of pumpkin at all.  I believe pumpkin flavored coffees can be tricky.  I was pleasantly surprised by the taste.  I feel that New England Coffee hit this flavor right on target.  The balance of flavors was spot on, not too weak, yet not too overpowering.  I, of course, alter the taste of the coffee with my creamer, but using either a french vanilla or hazelnut creamer only added to the delicious taste.  I mark New England Coffee Pumpkin Spice a winner.

Available October through December

A taste to be shared during the holiday season! A rich and creamy blend of eggnog is added to our gourmet South and Central American coffee beans and then is topped with a hint of nutmeg. With the smooth eggnog taste, this selection is sure to warm your heart on a cold winter’s morning. Reminisce about holiday traditions during all of your holiday gatherings with a warm cup of Eggnog.

If I was skeptical of Pumpkin Spice at least it sounded appealing.  I must say that Eggnog flavored coffee does seem like a stretch to the imagination.  Don’t get me wrong.  I love my coffee and I love eggnog, but together?  I can’t say the coffee tasted like eggnog.  Eggnog is a milk based drink, while coffee obviously is not.  The coffee had a unique blend of flavors that I found to be okay.  I can’t say I was wowed by this blend, but I didn’t dislike it either.  I guess it remains in the neutral category for me.  I think I’ll stick to Pumpkin Spice or try some of their other seasonal varieties such as Gingerbread Cookie or Cinnamon Sticky Bun.  Don’t they sound delicious!
