I partnered with Disney-Hyperion for an Elephant & Piggie party, all opinions are my own.
Sometimes it’s hard not to feel old. Like when you see young professionals entering the workforce and are convinced they are high schoolers. Or when you you realize that you grew up without the internet and cell phones. This same feeling struck me when I learned that Elephant & Piggie are celebrating their tenth anniversary this year. I swear it was just recently that I was reading these delightful “new” books to my two-year-old first born. That child, is now almost as tall a I am {and I’m not short!} and is on a constant campaign to have his own iPhone. Where the heck does time go?
To ease my potential melancholy moment we decided to have a mini-party. That’s always the cure to too much reminiscing, right? Just create new memories! With a full Elephant & Piggie kit at our disposal, I decided to add a little colored fun into the mix by making my own strawberry milk. I’ve purchased strawberry milk before, but I was pleased with how easy it was to make our own. Of course, it’s not entirely healthy, but it is a fun way to add a little specialness to a particular moment. Be sure to checkout the recipe below.

- 2 cups milk,
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries,
- 2 TBSP strawberry syrup
- 1/4 cup strawberry topping
- 1. Place all ingredients in blender
- 2. Mix until smooth

Yellow Bird has a button. It does . . . nothing! It is a good for nothing button.
Red Bird and Blue Bird are excited to try the button. But when they press it, they discover that the button makes them happy. Happy is something! A flabbergasted Yellow Bird insists the button does nothing. But it sure does seem to be making him mad. Mad is something!
The hilarious debate that follows takes readers on an emotional roller coaster that pokes at the power of imaginative play.
