Let’s be honest, I could stand to lose 10 pounds.  I could stand to lose 15lbs actually.  That would make me quite happy.  However I am not ready for the time and dedication it takes to skim off those pounds.  Another day.  My youngest is high maintenance these days.  At 18 months he is into EVERYTHING.  Am I making an excuse, of course.  Perhaps, because I know I am capable of losing those few pounds I know I will do it when the timing is right for our family.   Or perhaps if I dropped this blog business I would have that extra time.  Hmmm….I think I’m committed to my blog too for the time being:) Regardless, when I do decide to dedicate myself to my fitness, The Eat-Clean Diet Stripped, is full of useful ideas about how to achieve this goal.

The Eat-Clean Diet Stripped is about common sense.  I love that.  I do NOT appreciate books that have weird ideas about how to lose weight and be healthy.  Atkins, anyone?  Eating clean is simply eating food that has not been processed or preserved.  Fresh, clean, natural foods are best.  Maybe this isn’t common sense to everyone, but it certainly is to me.  I try, I fail, but I keep trying to keep my food as natural as possible.  The recipes included in this book all use natural ingredients.  I decided to try “Tasty Naked Wonton Soup” .  My family, particularly my husband, loves Asian inspired soups and he LOVED this one.  Check out the picture below.

While the wonton soup was a hit, I have not made any more recipes from the book.  They look great, but quite a few of them have what I consider to be “odd” ingredients.  Certainly not the type of things that I would find in my cupboard.   What the hell are chia seeds?  Perhaps you know.  I am clueless.  Perhaps I just need to continue with the cookbook book portion, but leave out those ingredients that are unfamiliar to me or difficult to find.  The type A personality within me has a hard time with that idea, however:)

Overall I found The Eat-Clean Diet Stripped to be a positive book about being healthy.   Yes, it is about losing weight.  Yes, it includes recipes,  but I find the book to be an inspiration to live a healthier life and that is its greatest benefit.

I received a copy of this book for review purposes, however all opinions are my own.
