There was some of this cuteness.

And this bittersweet moment.

And lots of fun with this one.

Yep, we officially started school last week.  That within itself is stressful enough, but as you can see from the middle picture it was the big kindergarten moment for my middle son.  Kindergarten is all day everyday here, so I couldn’t help but feel as though I was officially sending him out into the big bad world.  I knew this change was going to rock my introverted son’s world.  Oh lordy, the stress!  Not just on him of course, but me too.  In fact, it sort of felt like my first day of kindergarten.  I tend to go all ‘mama bear’ when it comes to my little guys and that fact that he was out in the world alone, gave me a serious case of anxiety last week.

I’m happy to report school has been a success so far.  My kindergartner is tired and cranky at adjusting to his new schedule and there were some tears the first day, but he is learning and growing.  He is making friends and facing his fears.   Me?  I am still anxiously, but supportingly waiting on the sidelines.  It’s hard to not to fret.  He’s my baby!

It is inevitable that all the stress and worry are bound to leave me with a doozy of a headache at some point.   I cringe just thinking about it.  According to a recent survey by the makers of Excedrin®, 69% of parents, who have at least one child in school this coming year, say they are excited for their child’s first day of school. That doesn’t change the fact that 44% of parents also say they expect to get a headache during the back to school season.  It looks like I’ll be in good company:)

With all the to-do lists that come with school and all the necessary supplies each child must have, it’s a wonder parents don’t have more headaches!

While purchasing all those pencils, folders, and notebooks it might be a good idea to pick up some Excedrin as well.  I personally find it to be my headache medicine of choice.
