Amazon Rain Review & Giveaway

Living in Minnesota I’m about as far away from the Amazon as I could get.  Perhaps if I moved to the Arctic I would be even further away, but you get the idea.  Amazon Rain products were created to attempt to harness the nourishing power of rain that exists in the Amazon Rainforest.  No easy task for a skincare company.  Amazon Rain offers 100% organic nourishment for your skin.  The first thing I like to do is read the ingredient list.  This way I can get the real scoop on the product.  I received three different product for review purposes, Replenishing Moisturizer, Camu C Serum, and Botanical Cleanser.  Obviously each product is going to have different ingredients , but lets take a look at the cleanser.  The first ingredient is water (not a surprise),  the second ingredient is sodium peg-7 olive oil carboxylate.  What?  I had never heard of that before!  After a quick Google search I was relieved to find it is formed from the fatty acid of olive oil.  That isn’t the exact definition, but I was satisfied that it was a natural and non toxic addition to the cleaner.  The next series of ingredients involve extracts, barks, oils, and so on.  All the kind of things I would expect from a natural Amazon based product.

The company states- Amazon Rain products are free of damaging chemicals and preservatives, alcohol, harsh detergents, waxes, mineral oil, lanolin, artificial fragrances, and colors.

I won’t dissect the other two products, but they also passed my initial ingredient list check.  Next it was time to actually use the product.  This is the part that is different from anything else I have previously tried.  Most skin cleansers or creams tend to be a creaming white.  These products are definitely not creamy or white.  Let me show you.

The cleanser is fairly clear and runny.  It has a nice Earthy smell, which is only natural considering the ingredients.

I was truly surprised by the look of the moisturizer.

Okay so they don’t exactly look like regular skincare products, but they are from the Amazon.  I was willing to give them a try.

I have been using the cleanser, serum, and moisturizer for approximately three weeks and I am impressed with the results.  My skin feels soft and smooth to the touch.  I was particularly doubtful of the moisturizer since my skin can be quite dry, but my skin is well nourished.

Here is the bottom line.  Will other products work just as well as Amazon Rain?  Of course, there are so many face care products available it is literally mind boggling.  Then why should you use Amazon Rain?

1. This is clearly stated on each bottle- Your purchase helps empower the Indigenous people of the Amazon Rainforest who sustainably harvest these pure ingredients.  Wow!  Rather than fork over your money to multimillion dollar beauty companies why not support a worthwhile cause instead?

2. A portion of the proceeds from every purchase also goes to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre.

I love the fact that Amazon Rain products do indeed come from the Amazon Rainforest and that they help support the people from that region.  The company’s motto is “deeper than beauty” and the causes that they support show their dedication to this belief.
