When I first heard about art for your appliances I wasn’t convinced it was something for me.  Some of the images border on tacky in my opinion, but once I checked out the web site and looked at the options available I was suddenly inspired.  There are SO many options available.   Check out some of my favorites.

Ultimately I decided upon a Chalkboard cover as I wanted something permanent to write on, on the refrigerator.  I like to have a list of our weekly schedule and my new chalkboard is a great alternative to my normal paper postings.  My giant chalkboard sticker (that’s essentially what it is) came rolled.  Obviously it would not be a good idea to fold this as it would be impossible to remove the line.  At the companies suggestion I laid out the area I wished to attach to my refrigerator.  I simply found an undisturbed area to place heavy books on top of it.  The company recommends 24 hours, but I gave it a couple of days to ensure it wouldn’t have any problems curling up.  Unlike some of the other appliance art my chalkboard was not a particular cut.   Instead I had the option to cut the chalkboard to the exact size and shape I desired.  You can also have the company cut the design to your specifications.  The application was easy to cut, however I am not very exact!  Applying the chalkboard to the refrigerator was very easy.  I was able to quickly push out any bubbles and it has remained very nicely.  It has not curled or potentially come off.  Checked it out.

I had to erase a portion of our week already and carefully using a napkin I was able to remove my writing without any problems.

Looks great! I’ve been looking into installing some of the instant granite into my new apartment which has horrible laminate countertops, but I can’t find anything about removing the instant granite once we move? Do you know anything about the removal process?

Unfortunately I don’t. I would look online at some of the sites, I’m guessing there is a process for removal. It might be as easy as peeling it off.
