Bob Evans Farmhouse Meals Review & Giveaway

My family and I recently had the pleasure of trying  three different $6 Farmhouse Deals at Bob Evans. Previously we were not very familiar with the restaurant, so we were looking forward to the experience. The restaurant was fairly busy when we arrived, so we had to wait a few minutes to be seated and then had to wait a while longer to place our orders, but it was well worth the wait. The atmosphere was very cozy and had a nice country feel. Bob Evans has a great selection of 10 Farmhouse meals for only $6 each:

Bob Evans Sausage Gravy Breakfast
Two eggs, Bob Evans Sausage or bacon and two biscuits
Sausage Biscuit Bowl
Spinach, Bacon & Tomato Biscuit Bowl
Border Scramble Biscuit Bowl
Homemade Meat Loaf Knife & Fork Sandwich
Slow-Roasted Turkey Knife & Fork Sandwich
Chicken-N-Noodles Deep-Dish Dinner
Spaghetti with Meat Sauce
Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo

My husband chose the Slow-Roasted Turkey Knife & Fork Sandwich. In his words, it was like “Thanksgiving all on one plate.” It didn’t take long before his plate was clean! It was extremely tasty, as it combined the best features of a comforting Thanksgiving meal: savory turkey, creamy mashed potatoes, delicious dressing, Texas toast, all topped off with gravy. Definitely a winner.

My 4-year daughter (who is a bit on the picky side) chose the Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, however we asked for the sauce to come on the side just in case. Our server was very accomodating with this request. When her meal arrived, she was excited about the yummy plate of spaghetti noodles and dipped a few noodles in the sauce to give it a try. I was very pleased when she exclaimed, “Mommy, the sauce is really good!” She was not able to clean her plate, but given that this was an adult-sized portion, she did pretty well. Who doesn’t like a great plate of spaghetti?!

I chose the Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo. Delicious! The chicken tasted farm-fresh and the alfredo sauce was nice and light. Sometimes I am skeptical of ordering alfredo sauce at restaurants because some tend to be too rich for my taste. But I was pleasantly surprised that this sauce was just right and not overwhelming. I am not a huge fan of broccoli but vegetables of any kind are good for you, so I try my best! This broccoli was very fresh and tasty.

The thing that impressed me the most about our meals was how much they resembled good old home cooking. The menu calls them “Farmhouse Deals” and I could definitely imagine myself eating this meal at the farmhouse where I grew up. There is something very comforting about farm-fresh, homestyle cooking, whether you grew up on a farm or not! I would encourage everyone to give these meals a try. You won’t be disappointed! Especially at the amazing price of $6 each!
