What would you do in a world without books? For children living in poverty, a world without books is an unfortunate reality. There is only 1 book for every 300 children in these low-income neighborhoods.
With the help of Buddig Lunchmeats, Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) is giving new books to underserved kids. You can help this worthy cause just by “liking” RIF’s Facebook page. During the month of August, Buddig will make a $2.50 donation matching up to $5,000 to support RIF literacy programs.
This summer, Buddig is also sponsoring a Be A Reader Virtual Book Drive to raise funds to purchase new books for children living in poverty. Help give them a head start by donating to the Be A Reader Virtual Book Drive. Every $10 you donate lets RIF buy 4 books! Make a donation of $5 or $10 and you’ll receive a coupon from Buddig Lunchmeats. Larger donations could earn you an insulated lunch bag or backpack. Funds raised through the Be A Reader Virtual Book Drive will be used to purchase new books for participating RIF youth.
Buddig Lunchmeats is a proud supporter of Reading Is Fundamental, our nation’s oldest and largest children’s literacy organization. RIF serves more than 4 million children, with a focus on ages birth to 8. Please join RIF and Buddig to help get books to children who need them the most.
As students prepare to head back to school, RIF and Buddig offer these timely tips for raising readers of every age:
A child without books starts out behind and is likely to stay behind for the rest of his or her life. The books that RIF provides can spark a lifetime of ambition. Join RIF and Buddig by adding your support to the Be A Reader Virtual Book Drive!
To help celebrate this important book drive Buddig has kindly offered one lucky Mama Report reader a $50 Amazon G.C.!
Please use the Rafflecopter entry method provided.
U.S. only. Winner will be verified.

I either give them to the kids i watch or one summer I collected boxes to which I gave to my cousin who was starting to teach in an inner city elementary school (the school had a new library but few books which needed to be filled. ) Most people just gave me books and other supplies when they heard the cause. All kids deserve the gift of reading and a book. My favorite kids books are Shel Silverstein, Curious George, Mercer Mayer books, Clifford, Berenstein bears, the list goes on.
