Fisher-Price is not a new brand to our family.  My middle son has been crazy about Imaginext for quite some time.  He has the Dragon Castle and LOVES it.  I would highly recommend this set for boys ages 2-6.    The castle has lightning flashes and thunder, plus there are other really cool pieces that you can purchase to add to the set including dragons, knights with armor, and ships.   My son has literally spent hours playing with it.  Ooops, this review is for another toy!  I just had to talk about Imaginext and our Dragon Castle first.  If I am going to discuss Fisher-Price, I also have to mentioned our beloved Dragon Castle!

Back to the review at hand.  We received the Rescue Heroes Fire Truck with Billy Blazes to review.  My boys were very excited, as you can imagine.  A large fire truck that makes sounds!  I don’t know any boy that could turn away from this.

I was curious to see who exhibited dominance over this new toy.   With three boys ages 21 months, 4 years, and almost 7 years old, we hit the target ages for this toy perfectly.  I had my suspicions about who would gravitate towards it the most and I was proved correct.

My baby, who is not such a baby.  After his older brothers had a chance to check it out, he claimed dominance and the truck has become essentially his.  This little guy loves trucks as I’m sure many boys do and is especially taken with the fire truck noises it also makes.  He loves to push it around the house.

I was even impressed that he figured out the “actionator”(by watching his older brothers in action, of course) No need for concern with these water bombs.  They do “shoot” out of the blaster, but not at a speed that is dangerous.

The recommend age for this truck is 3 years old, but obviously it can also be very entertaining for those younger.  My son at 21 months has the whole thing figured out and loves it.

The complete set includes- the fire truck, Billy Blazes (the fire fighter), detachable ladder, ax, shovel, and DVD.

The ax and shovel are for Billy Blazes to put out those nasty fires with!

And did you catch me mention DVD?  My older boys were thrilled that a Rescue Heroes/Imaginext DVD was included in this set.  We have a very short Imaginext DVD that my middle son has watched again and again.  This new DVD includes four Rescue Heroes episodes, plus Imaginext shorts.  Back to the Dragon Castle again, my middle son actually uses the correct names for his Imaginext knight characters.  I always here him talking about Angus.  That is obviously not a normal name for a three/four year old to choose.   I think it is great that Fisher-Price includes these short DVD’s in their products.  What a great way to add excitement to a product line.

Overall my boys have really enjoyed the Rescue Heroes Billy Blazes with Fire Truck.   This is sturdy and reliable toy that will last for quite some time and that is essential since it will be receiving so much playtime.

I received the above mentioned product for review purposes, all opinions are my own .
