Girl’s Movie Night- The Phantom of the Opera at The Royal Albert Hall

I’ve been to London.  I visited Westminster Abbey, I took pictures of Big Ben, I roamed around Trafalgar Square, and I drooled over the crown jewels at the Tower of London.  But like a fool, I did not attend a dramatic performance.  This is the land of Shakespeare, and yet I didn’t make it to one little play.  I blame all the other famous historical sites.  The history and English teacher within me was split.  There was so much to do and see.

Now with three little children underfoot my chances of seeing a famous production are very low.  Perhaps someday when the kids are older we will take them to London or New York to see theater at its best.  But until then, I’m going to have to make do with a DVD version.  And the best way to make a movie viewing festive is to invite some girlfriends over!  Themed get-togethers take normal old movie night and turn it into something special.

Soon I will be hosting a get together to watch The Phantom of the Opera at The Royal Albert Hall.  The music is fabulous!  And with the right atmosphere and lightning my friends and I can all imagine we are in London seeing the play live:)  Sure, our children might be crying in the next room, but we can imagine!
