iLearn ‘N’ Play Learning Tablet Review & Giveaway

If your children are anything like mine, they love their iPad time.  I can’t say that I blame them.  When I was in elementary school, my best friend’s family owned a desktop computer.  I thought they were rich.  I mean, they owned their own computer!:)

Times have changed.  Technology is a natural part of life now.  This isn’t the first time I’ve stated this, but as a parent I think it is our job to moderate this technology.  Yes, technology is wonderful and very important.  But it is equally as important to make sure our children are gaining insight from this experience.  There are so many mindless games available.  I have an app that notifies me of current free apps.  I almost never download anything new, as most of the apps are shooting games.  Yes, children love shooting- point and click games.  But I feel it is our job, to consciously select which apps and games our children play.

I recently received an iLearn ‘N’ Play Learning Tablet to enhance our iPad experience.  Clearly, the words “learn” had my attention.  I am always interested in ways the iPad can help boost my children’s learning.  And merely by looking at the image on the box I knew this device would potentially strengthen my child’s writing skills.

The concept is simple and the product is easy to use.  Merely insert your iPad into the tablet to create your child’s own learning system.

It can be a little nerve wrecking putting an expensive iPad into a device, but this tablet comes with cushioned areas to gently secure the iPad.

Once placed inside the tablet your iPad will look like this.

You’ll want to be sure to secure your iPad within the tablet, however.  This process is extremely important.  If the iPad is not secure it can fall out and potentially break.

I recommend using a coin to turn the lock mechanism into place.

The system comes with instructions on how to download the free app available for this tablet.  New games will be available within the coming year.

Notice the tablet comes with a “pencil” that has a soft tip, perfect for use on the iPad.

And now you are ready to start learning!  And while this device can essentially be used anywhere.  I foresee its biggest advantage when we are in the car.  When we are at home, my son can use a pencil and paper.  But on the go, nothing beats the simplicity of this device.  Long car trip?  You are going to want one, trust me.

My five year old son is in the process of learning how to write his letters and this app and device is a perfect (low-stress) way for him to learn.  Plus practicing on the iPad just makes everything a bit more fun, right?:)

AppStart the creator of the iLearn ‘N’ Play Learning Tablet also has created two other devices- an Adventure Explorer and a Robbi.  If my boys could have their way, I’m sure they’d want all three:)
