This weekend my trip to New York City and the Tribeca Film Festival was a whirlwind adventure to say the least. I can assure you this lifestyle is about as far away as it gets from my normal life, but that is what made the time so much more memorable. This week I will be writing a series of posts highlighting my time in NYC. Look for stories regarding my review of The Avengers movie, and my interviews with Cobie Smulders (S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill) and Tom Hiddleston (Loki) coming soon. But first and foremost I wanted to highlight the red carpet event. Yes, it was entirely surreal!
Theatrical super heroes and real life heroes stood side by side Saturday evening on the red carpet. The Avengers work together to save the Earth in the movie, but in real life it is our local military and emergency responder teams that provide protection and assistance to all. With grateful spirits all attendees honored our dedicated protectors.
But perhaps the real show stopper of the evening was only approximately 3 feet tall!! I do have a soft spot for little boys since I have three of my own:)
This little Captain America was here with his father – a real life hero. See how this deployed military man surprised his super hero loving son with is arrival home.
Fans lined up outside the entrance for a chance to catch a glimpse of their favorites actors.
Who wouldn’t want a chance to chat with these guys?!
See Tom Hiddleston gorgeous smile in the photo above? Once that charming grin is directed at you, your ability to speak is gone. At least that is what happened to me, but more on that later….
Chris Hemsworth (Thor)
Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk)
Sharing a funny moment- Robert Downey Jr. (Ironman) & Robert De Niro
Clark Gregg (Agent Phil Coulson) & his wife Jennifer Grey
Bonding brothers? Loki and Thor
Tom Hiddleston (Loki)
Michael J. Fox and his wife Tracy Pollan came to see the movie!
Once the red carpet portion of the evening was over, everyone settled into their seats for the movie to begin. But before the show started the stars of the movie made sure to properly remind everyone who the real heroes are.
And then the movie started…….more to come soon:)
But I will leave you with my red carpet appearance! I certainly didn’t cause a flurry of camera shutters (notice how everyone is looking in the opposite direction!), but I thought I represented small town girls everywhere quite well:)

Such an amazing weekend – I’ll never forget it! You looked great in your dress!! So glad to meet you!
What a fantastic experience! You looked great. I have an opportunity to go this year and I am wondering what to wear. This gives me good ideas. Did you go to any of the film festival that wasnt red carpet? What did you wear? I intend to go to both.
Hi Lana,
How exciting! I hope you have a wonderful time. I only went to the red carpet experience, therefore I only wore what you saw in the post. I recommend a cocktail dress of some sort.
Enjoy! It’s a once in a lifetime experience!
