Get set for big laughs, good times and cool tunes with the Scooby-Doo gang as they travel to the super spooky parts of the Deep South for the Vampire-Palooza Festival. The event kicks off with good fun and lots of tasty Southern snacks, but it’s not long before the festivities are interrupted by a real vampire who threatens the townsfolk and tries to take Daphne for his vampire bride!
Scooby-Doo is gold in our house. I’m not sure when it happened, but the gang has become one of my children’s favorites. This is sweet for me to watch as I too watched Scooby-Doo when I was a kid. The animation has been updated, but the at the heart of the show the story line and characters are still the same. I loved the spookiness of the shows and the discovery of the real criminal. Scooby-Doo is classic television to me.
Needless to say my children were ecstatic to watch this new selection. Actually what happened was quite humorous. I happily daunted the new DVD in front of my non-reading four year old. He then proceed to say, “Mom, you got Scooby-Doo! Music of the Vampire!”. I stared at him in disbelief for a moment. I looked at the box and then I looked at him. Then I said, “How in the heck did you know that?”. He then states that he saw the preview on a different show. Aww…I thought for a moment Scooby-Doo had instantly made my son learn how to read:)
This movie is a bit different from other Scooby-Doo shows as they do instead sing through out this DVD. Most kids enjoy music so I see this as a natural progression and a great idea. My kids were a little confused, they actually asked me why there was so much music. But they love Scooby-Doo and this new movie has become a favorite.
I decided to interview my four year old regarding the DVD. Here is the official scoop;)
“It was totally vampire awesome!”
“My favorite part is when they capture the vampire. It’s really not real.” (meaning he really isn’t a vampire)
“Shaggy got bitten by a vampire”.
Obviously the vampire thing, was a big hit!
The package I received included a DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital copy. I haven’t had a chance to download the digital copy yet, but I love that so many movies are now being packaged with all these options!
