The Amazing Spider-Man Vudu Party! #SpiderManWMT #CBias

My husband has a group of gamer geek friends who like to gather together usually once every Thursday for game playing and male bonding.  Occasionally the group meets at my house.  When they do, I disappear.  I’m not one of those girls who strives to fit in with the guys.   I know my place and it clearly does not belong in a room with six- beer drinking, game board playing, professional men.

That all changed this Thursday night.  I hosted an  Amazing Spider-Man Vudu Party for my husband and his friends.  I was willing to crash the guys night for the sake of Spider-Man.  I have personally been very excited to see this film ever since I saw Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone at FAO Schwartz in NYC.  Plus the easy option of watching the movie early at home via Vudu is awesome!

But let me back up a minute.  First, what is Vudu?  And how we’re we able to watch Spider-Man when it isn’t even out on DVD yet?

For the complete scoop, visit my original Spider-Man Vudu post.  This explains the entire process.  But in a nutshell, I purchased a DVD case with an included code to be able to view the movie via Vudu (online movie company) before the actual DVD/Blu-ray release.  Awesome!  Gamer geeks love to be the first to get their hands on a game and the same is true for movies- especially a comic book hero movie.

To prep for my party I visited my local Walmart store.  I knew I had to purchase the Spider-Man Augmented Reality Marketside Pizza there!  I was familiar with an augmented reality app from my Avengers Walmart app experience, and I knew this one would be equally awesome!

Notice above it looks like a normal pizza box, but by using the app the simple pizza box comes to life!!  So amazing!

As I previously mentioned I had a lot of fun setting the scene for the special night.

Pizza, salsa & chips, meat, cheese, & cracker tray, assortment of candies, special Spider-Man Rice Krispie bars, and hand dipped candy coated pretzels- plus an assortment of drinks were all planned!

I knew the guys were going to play a game first, so I thought these little bowls would be great for easy snacking.

And, of course I added a little Spider-Man touch!

The guys wasted no time digging in!

These were my personal favorites.  Fortunately the guys didn’t seem to like them- perhaps the sprinkles were too girlie?:)

I just happened to have a few Spider-Man toys to help add to the decor!

And then it was movie time!

I must admit, this was our first experience watching a movie via  But the process was very simple and we had zero problems.  Of course, what I haven’t told you yet is that all of the guys- including my husband- work in computers!:)  I knew there would be no technical glitches!  But their multiplied brain powers was of no use, as even I could have figured out

So while we watched the movie via Vudu last night, because of my pre-order I will also receive the physical DVD + Blu-ray + Ultra Violet  version & a special Spider-Man mask when it is released on November 9th.  The entire package will be shipped right to my doorstep with no extra postage!
