The Gruffalo DVD Review & Giveaway

What happens when a courageous little mouse, with charm and chutzpah to spare, takes a walk through a dark forest filled with hundreds of potential predators in his midst? Kids of all ages and their parents will find out in NCircle Entertainment’s charming, Oscar-nominated family film, “The Gruffalo,”   The Gruffalo is narrated by Helena Bonham Carter and features the voices of Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid from Harry Potter!), Tom Wilkinson and John Hurt.
This enchanting tale about courage, wit and determination provides a great forum to talk with your kids about feeling vulnerable or scared, particularly as they start school for the very first time or are embarking on a new school year (which can indeed feel like a walk through a dark, scary forest!).

My older boys, ages 4 and 7, were eager to watch this movie based on the illustrations on the cover of the DVD.   I didn’t even need to read the summary for them to be excited.  They can spot a good story and great illustrations for themselves.  This movie is based on the book, which we have never read, but want to now.  My boys, especially my four year old, loved this movie.  For days after he saw it he kept talking about the Gruffalo, but he kept calling it a “buffalo”.   This story is not scary and children can relate to being the small guy in a very large world.  My children were captivated and enthralled with this story, it is surely a keeper.

The Gruffalo is currently available for purchase through NCircle Entertainment for $8.99 and is also available at stores nationwide.

One lucky Mama Report reader will win The Gruffalo on DVD!
