Walgreens Balance Rewards- Easy Loyalty Savings #BalanceRewards #Cbias

Until about a year ago, Walgreens was an illusive mystery to me.  We didn’t have a single store in at least a sixty mile radius.  I knew there were savings to be had and I was certainly missing out.  All that changed with the emergence of our first store.   And then a few months after that we received a second.  Yes, I am well stocked with Walgreens stores now.

Each chain store has their own policies and systems.  I quickly realized for Walgreens, the magic existed with Register Rewards.   I could actually purchase items for free.  How awesome is that?  Register Rewards are still present and will remain so, but in addition to these awesome print-outs is the new Balance Rewards program.  Walgreens wants to reward me for being a loyal customer.  What does this mean?  Extra savings on items purchased online and in store.

My initial thought about this new program?  Where do I sign up, because I gotta get me some additional savings!

It turns out I had to go as far as my bedroom, as that is where my iPad was located.  Signing up took me approximately one minute.  It was so fast and easy.  Let me show you.

First, here I am all cozy in my favorite chair with my fuzzy slippers.  This is the way to shop!

Currently you can sign up in store or via the Walgreens app.  I already had the app on my iPad as I like to check out the weekly flyer, but if you don’t have the app it is free and downloads quite easily. Check out my entire process of signing up for the Balance Rewards and my online shopping experience by visiting my Google +album.

So how does the program work?  By accumulating points, you can receive instant savings.  You can redeem as little as 5,000 points, which is a $5 reward.  This might sound like a lot, but many rewards are 1000 points with some even being more.  It is fairly quick to achieve the necessary 5,000 points.

But back to the signing up process.  If you already have a Walgreens account, merely log in.  And of course if you don’t have an account, one will need to be created.

I already have a Walgreens account, so this process was simplified for me.

Entering your telephone number is important, as until you receive your card this will be your way to use the reward program.  For instance, I ducked into my local Walgreens store on Sunday to purchase a couple of items.  The clerk had me enter my Balance Rewards access number (my phone number) on the keypad.  It took two seconds.  My clerk was clearly well informed about the program and the store was decorated for the release of this new program.

Once I entered my zip code, mobile number, and birth date- ta-da!  I was a new Balance Reward Member!  I certainly believe the two minutes it took me to join is worth the savings I will receive.

Notice that I actually joined before the official release of the program.  But the program is now active!

The next logical question I had regarding this program is- how would I be able to track my points?  It is important to me to be able to see my points and keep track of my potential savings.

Luckily, viewing my points is as easy as logging into my Walgreens account.  I can view my points via my app or my computer.

Now I’m ready to maximize my savings!

Here are some of the benefits of the Balance Rewards program- receive 500 points for every prescription and immunization, save on sale items, earn points on thousands of items each week, get 10 points for every mile when you Walk with Walgreens.  Make sure to visit Walgreens.com for the full details regarding the benefits.

Nana if you’re reading this (and I know you do:) AARP members even receive exclusive discounts!  Not that Nana is old enough to receive these discounts, but maybe in a few years:)  If your parents or grandparents are members of AARP they can receive 5,000 points when they spend $25 in a single purchase – plus 5 special point offers.

Watch this short video for a run down of the program.

As the mom to three busy little boys, sometimes getting to a store is next to impossible.  The thought of taking all three boys to Walgreens sounds exhausting.  But shopping from Walgreens via my app, in the comfort of my own home, once the kids are asleep is divine.

At 10 o’clock at night I could be driving around town trying to get the deals once the boys are asleep, or I could simply turn on my iPad from my comfy chair.  Awwwww…..

What does a tired mom of three need from Walgreens?  Coffee.  Yep, lots of coffee.  And facial moisturizer.  Because, darn it!  those boys are giving me wrinkles too!:)

My advice?  What are you waiting for?  This program seems like a “no-brainer”.  Two minutes to sign up, free membership, multiple ways to earn points and save.  Visit Walgreens online to sign up today!
