The number of days until school starts is dwindling in Minnesota. I realize many students across the country have been hitting the books for a while, but in Minnesota we savor our summers, not starting school until after Labor Day. But once school starts here, the last few months of 2016 slip by very quickly. Football season, autumn weather, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are here before we know it.

This Wednesday, August 24th is your chance to start planning your holiday festivities by attending a special event at The Saint Paul Hotel kicking off tickets sells for It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play. Take a step back in time to the grandeur and elegance of old Saint Paul by visiting the James J. Hill ballroom at The Saint Paul Hotel {located right next to the magnificent Landmark Center}.

It’s a Wonderful Life tells the story of George Bailey, a good man thrust into self-doubt by financial setbacks.  He learns that his self-worth comes from his big heart, not his shrunken finances, with help from his friends, his loving family, and a guardian angel named Clarence. The American Film Institute (AFI) selected It’s a Wonderful Life as its “Most Inspiring Movie of All Time” in a 2006 “100 Years—100 Cheers” retrospective.

I want to attend because I’ve heard it’s good. They have it every year and I’d like to see inside the St. Paul Hotel as I’ve driven by it on my way to work.

  2. This is my FAVORITE Christmas movie! Watch it every year and know most of the lines by heart.

  3. I love this and I haven’t even attended….yet! It’s a great movie.
