The Little Mermaid Diamond Edition Blu-ray Combo Pack Review

The Little Mermaid is classic Disney.  I was twelve years old when this movie debuted and beyond the target age, but I was entranced nonetheless.  I have a confession to make.  I haven't always been a Disney fan.  Some of the early Disney animated films didn't resonate with me.  Pocahontas irks this history teacher.   But there is no denying my affinity for The Little Mermaid.  Now (as of October 1st) The Little Mermaid is available on Blu-ray.  I remember being completely dazzled as a child, I knew my youngest son was going to be amazed.  The music, colors, and lively & funny … [Read more...]

A Mama Report Feature: Disney Princess Dream Party Celebration!

It might be quite obvious, but most of my content is not frilly or girly in nature. Sure, I occasionally have one of my contributors  add in a post dedicated to items for little girls, but with three little boys in my house~ pink is not a desirable color:) In an attempt not to deter mothers of little girls from The Mama Report I've turned to the lovely Rachel Rockwell of Bubbly Nature Creations.  As the busy mom of three little girls this fabulous blogger has phenomenal photography skills.  In fact her pictures are so great I'm scared to show them to might never return here! … [Read more...]

MULAN Tony & Tom Bancroft Interview #Mulan #DisneyOzEvent

I walked the Red Carpet at the Oz premiere, meet the stars of the film and interviewed them, watched a chunk of new Iron Man 3 film and interviewed Marvel President Kevin Feige, and I also meet with Mulan Director and Animation Supervisor (identical twin brothers) Tony and Tom Bancroft.  Yeah, I can't quite believe it myself.  My time in LA was brief, but amazing. Tom and Tony Bancroft were sweet, funny, and kind.  This is not very profound, but- they are real people.   You might have realized this, but I have to confess I found it refreshing to meet such genuine people involved in the … [Read more...]

Oz The Great and Powerful- Mila Kunis Interview #DisneyOzEvent

photo courtesy of Just Jared Mila Kunis is the real deal.  What do I mean by this?  She isn't fake in anyway.  What you see is what you get.  Mila Kunis is a woman who is clearly comfortable in her own skin and handles life in a direct manner.  Upon entering our room (full of 25 mommy bloggers) she was immediately aware that she was in a room full of fans and "real" women.  Unlike other parts of her day dealing with traditional journalists trying to pry the latest gossip from her lips, we were just happy to see her.  What followed was a delightful and fun interview for all.  (I have … [Read more...]

Oz The Great and Powerful- Rachel Weisz Interview #DisneyOzEvent

photo courtesy of Disney Rachel Weisz is the epitome of elegant grace.  I had this impression of her prior to our interview and certainly this perspective was enhanced by my experience.  With a delicate British accent she answered our questions surrounding her character Evanora from the film Oz The Great and Powerful.  Her costumes within the movie are elaborate and beautiful, a stark contrast to the gown she wore at the premiere.  This orange dress was sleek and sexy and was magnificent to see in person. photo courtesy of Disney Be sure to check out my previous interview posts with … [Read more...]

Oz The Great and Powerful- Director Sam Raimi Interview #DisneyOzEvent

(Photo by Alberto E. Rodriguez/WireImage) I'm a little ashamed to admit I didn't readily identify Sam Raimi.  I hope my husband doesn't read this.  One of his all time favorite movies is Army of Darkness.  He actually wooed me during our courtship with lines from the movie.  I can't tell you how many times my husband has said, "Gimme some sugar, baby". Clearly, I've been hiding under a shell, as Sam Raimi is a powerful storyteller and director.  Spider-Man?  Yep, that' him.  Spider-Man 2? Yep.  I imagine it takes a brave soul to tap into the Wizard of Oz storyline.  The Judy Garland classic … [Read more...]

Oz The Great and Powerful World Premiere- Red Carpet Experience at the El Capitan Theatre #DisneyOzEvent

picture courtesy of Disney One of the most thrilling aspects of my time in LA for the #DisneyOzEvent was walking the red carpet at the premiere at the El Capitan Theatre.  The experience was a whirlwind to say the least.  We arrived just as Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, and Mila Kunis also happened to be arriving. Inadvertently we walked just behind them on the red carpet.  Yeah, it was amazing.  I've included a ton of pictures below, because that's what I would want to see:)  It is quite obvious which ones are mine and which were taken by Disney.  Somehow my iPhone camera just doesn't … [Read more...]
