Hilton Milwaukee City Center Review

We had the opportunity to stay at the Hilton City Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin right before Christmas.  We were in town to see The Christmas Carol at the Pabst Theater.  We have a tradition of seeing the play every year at the Pabst, but his was our first time staying at the Hilton.  I had no idea what was in store for my family!  We had been driving for over four hours to arrive in Milwaukee and by the time we did arrive we were tired.  Three kids in a van for any length of time can be a recipe for trouble.  I knew the parking ramp at the Hilton would be monstrous, so my hubby was going to drop us off at the entry.  As soon as I exited my van a bellhop was immediately at my service.  I was astounded!  He quickly helped me load my belongings onto a luggage rack and patiently waited while I grabbed the kids.  To a tired and stressed mommy this was extremely helpful.  As I entered the Hilton I was astounded.  I was jaw-dropping astounded.  It was magnificent!  It was so beautiful!  The reason being that the hotel is not modern, instead the Hilton dates from the 1920’s and luckily it has been preserved!  There are no pictures that can properly display the grandeur and opulence of the Hilton, but these pictures will give you a small idea of its beauty.

This is one of the banquet rooms.

We spent a great deal of time wandering around the hotel soaking in all the beautiful style and architecture.

I could have taken thousands of pictures.  The chandeliers, art deco style, and the feeling of Christmas made the whole experience  magical.

After walking in astonishment into the lobby my luggage was whisked away to be taken immediately to my room.  I am normally not the kind of girl who stays at places were luggage is taken care of.  I stay at the kind of place were you do it yourself.  I have mastered the art of carrying multiple bags while keeping a keen eye on my children.  I felt like a celebrity, a big shot, and woman of substance.  What an entrance!

I remained in a kind of dumb struck amazement our entire time at the Hilton.

There is a water park inside the hotel, but we did not have a chance to swim this trip.  It did look like fun.

My husband and I were able to catch a coffee date night at the Starbucks connected to the hotel while Nana watched the children.  It was cozy and wonderful to sip a latte while the snow fell outside and we were warm and snug on the inside.  What a wonderful way to spend the holidays.

Here are some more pictures.

notice my personal decorations in this photo:)

Watch to see me look completely ridiculous (how many times can I blink!)

  1. Thanks for linking up to Tuesdays Travels. I’m like you I am sure I could have taken photo after photo . We actually road tripped to Wisconsin Dells to hit the water parks there. This would have been a fun place to stay and visit also. I’m pinning your post for future vacations!

  2. Yay for my hometown! Unfortunately, that means I’ve never stayed there myself. I’ll have to give them a try next time we’re back visiting family. Thanks for the review!
