Red Carpet Bound! NYC Marvel’s The Avengers Screening at the Tribeca Film Festival (#TheAvengersEvent)

I have some big news, HUGE news!  The Mama Report is going on location to New York City!!  I’m heading to the Big Apple for the Red Carpet Tribeca Film Festival Closing Night Screening of MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS! Umm….yes, I’m totally in shock.  I can’t quite believe it yet.

I was selected along with 24 other top bloggers to travel to NYC for an all expense paid trip courtesy of Marvel/Disney.  For those of you who don’t know a lot about me, I am a farm girl who grew up in the countryside of North Dakota.  I currently live near a small town in Minnesota.  Yep, it’s definitely going to be a case of small town girl meets big city.  Okay, okay to be fair I have done some traveling in my day.  Oslo, Paris, London, Los Angeles, but somehow NYC has slipped right by me.

If you want to live vicariously please join me on my journey!  I will be traveling on April 27th, 28th, and 29th and will be tweeting my experience with the hashtag #TheAvengersEvent.  Of course I will also be blogging about my adventure so make sure to check back with The Mama Report to see my story.

Marvel’s The Avengers are my little guys heroes, but at the Tribeca Film Festival the true heroes of our society will be honored.  Members of police agencies, fire departments, first responders and various branches of the U.S. military will be attending to have their chance to interact with actors from the movie and receive their proper recognition.

My little boys (ages 2, 4, 7) are already brimming with excitement at the prospect of their old Ma talking to “real” super heroes.  They were disappointed to find out Wolverine is not in the movie, but they were excited by the prospect of Ironman, Hawkeye, and Thor.  Currently, you can find a slew of Thor library books strewn across my living room as my four year old has decreed him his new favorite super hero.  I am not sure who we will be interviewing yet, but any super hero will do for my guys.  Incidentally my husband will be supremely jealous if it turns out to be director Joss Whedon.  He has been a huge fan of this director/producer for many years.  We both loved his TV show Firefly.

Here is a brief synopsis of the movie.

In MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS the world’s greatest Super Heroes assemble when Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), The Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) join S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) to protect the world from the dangerous and powerful villain, Loki (Tom Hiddleston).

MARVEL’S THE AVENGERS hits theaters everywhere on May 4th!

Perhaps this trip will be somewhat similar to my everyday life?  After all I regularly spend the day with my own super heroes!

As previously stated this trip will be entirely funded by Disney/Marvel, however all opinions expressed are my own.
